Overwhelm, decision making and the need to lead from within
If you have been feeling overwhelmed by all your responsibilities; you’re being asked to make decisions that could affect the livelihoods and/or lives of people around you; you’re either running in circles trying to do it all or you feel frozen in place, immobilized by not knowing what to do about any of it….this is for you.
At issue: emotional overwhelm and difficulty making decisions.
There is a dynamic relationship between emotional overwhelm and our ability to make good decisions. The greater the emotional overwhelm the less we’re able to think clearly. Decision making is made that much more difficult when the criteria on which we’re basing decisions has shifted or disappeared altogether. When the world outside seems unreliable we can’t use it to guide us. The best we can do it gather what information we can then go inside and make decisions from our own inner knowing.
We are being asked, more than ever before, to come back to ourselves ….in order to lead from within.
In this talk I give you a brief overview of what is going on in your brain when you’re feeling overwhelmed, two tools you can use by yourself to regulate your own nervous system, and one practice that, when done with a skillful listening partner, will integrate the decision making part of the brain, bring you back to yourself and give you the highest probability of making the right moves.

Speaker Bio: Jolina Karen
Jolina Karen is a behaviorist, a personal and professional development coach, and a spiritual teacher who, for the past 20 years, has been guiding clients to greater levels of self-awareness, relationship mastery and leadership success.
She has led workshops and retreats on three continents to empower participants with a unique, teleologically driven understanding of human behavior that, once engrained, collapses emotional obstacles, changes relationships and brings out the wisdom within. She is also the developer of the Catalytic Conversations Program in which she trains participants in how to interact with others in ways that bring out the best in everyone.
Jolina holds certifications in Psychology, Sociology, various somatic therapies, Behavioral Kinesiology and The Demartini Method™.
